The twin of this stunning blue crushed velvet maxi dress by Oscar de la Renta is held in the Goldstein Museum of Design (the last photo is their collection archive photo) and they have this dated as being from the 1960-1965 period. Simple lines are offset by the vibrant color and that amazing belt. The belt is edged in ribbon and has huge jewels heat fused and set amongst curved silver braiding. The dress is then edged with red cording ribbon at the neck and used to accent the pockets. The overall effect is startling with that red and blue combination and the crushed velvet give it an interesting texture. Excellent condiiton
